Math Night

This week, the teachers are planning a ‘Math Night’ for the parents of the children who attend this school. This evening is intended to be full of fun and educating math games as a creative way of teaching the parents what their children will be learning in class. Based on what I have learned in my own classes, I feel that it is essential to ensure the parents are educated and up to date on what their children are learning. This is important because when the children bring their work home with them, or need help answering a question or studying for a test, their parents will be able to assist them or at least be knowledgeable on where to find the resources that will be able to help them. In order to ensure the children’s success, I feel that nights like these are nothing short of beneficial for all the parties involved.

The teachers have spent many hours this week preparing for this event, planning games and preparing work sheets to play and give the parents. I hope that this is going to be a successful event and I can’t wait to take part in many more fun and educational programs such as this.
